Danny hails from Whitesburg, Kentucky and now resides in Northwest Ohio. He was raised on Bluegrass and old time country. He started out on guitar and only started playing mandolin with his brothers since no one in the band knew how to play mandolin.

He's played country music most of the time
and his band won best country band in Ohio at the Tru-Value country showdown in 1994. They were also the opening act for many of the top country artists today and recorded in Nashville but the band was never picked up by a label.

His heart was always in Bluegrass and so now it's back on mandolin and vocals with Straightfork, full of fire and ready to entertain you.

He credits his influences to J.D. Crowe, Sammy

His rich baritone vocals round out the trio harmonies in Straightfork's sound. Randy, wife Vanessa, and son Wyatt make their home in Norwalk, Ohio.
